It has come to my attention (through a kind-hearted high school administrator) that the local school systems did most of their hiring internally this year from their paraprofessional pool. Now, for once, I don't have an arguement for that. It makes complete sense to lower overheads by cutting advertising, admin, and training costs. To top it all off, they've worked with the person for a year and know who they're getting into bed with. With that knowledge firmly implanted under my little, blonde curls, I will sign up for the paraprofessional test ASAP and start getting my resume out there!
